We work with a diversity of high-tech product companies—ranging in size from some of the valley’s largest--such as VMware, Symantec, Cisco, and Oracle--to companies with 100 service employees--to small product companies just starting a services business. We also provide product marketing support to technology companies, especially storage companies.
Located in Los Gatos, California, Whiteman Consulting primarily works with clients in northern California, but welcomes inquiries from companies in other geographical areas.

VMware delivers virtualization and cloud infrastructure solutions. The professional services organization decided to productize its consulting services to make them easier to sell and deliver by VMware and its partners.
Mary Ann Whiteman provided program management to help VMware deliver more than a dozen packaged professional services. She helped plan, organize, and monitor the project resources, deliverables, and schedules to ensure quality and on-time delivery of the packaged services. Due to the flawless initial release of the services, the partner organization was able to successfully launch the new solution kit program at its annual worldwide partner conference. To prepare for the following year’s budget planning process, Mary Ann worked closely with the program director to determine resource requirements. To ensure the ongoing success of the program, she documented the processes that her team developed.

Symantec provides security, storage, and systems management solutions.
Mary Ann provided many services for Symantec's services organization over the years, including interim professional services product management, service portfolio revisions, case studies, sales guides, content and program management for new internal and external services websites, development of many presentations with speaker notes, event coordination and materials, webcast facilitation, and more.
Oracle provides complete, open, an integrated business software and hardware solutions. Mary Ann provided many services for the Sun Professional Services organization over the years including program management for productized services, research, service briefs, sales guides, value prompters, presentations, white papers, sales support, and more. She also provided case studies and other marketing support for Oracle's support organization.
Clustrix provides database solutions for Internet-scale applications. Mary Ann wrote all the copy for Clustrix's initial website.
Zmanda is the global leader in open source backup and recovery software. Mary Ann wrote web copy, data sheets, white papers, and more.
NeoPath Networks provided file storage management solutions. During its initial product launch, Mary Ann provided many services for the start-up company, including case studies, application briefs, a product reviewer’s guide, and consultation on its services business.
